I had a Mele Kalikimaka! Since then we've been working hard on our house so I haven't been blogging. OK... I spent a lot of my dad's leave out in the yard with my sister while he fixed stuff.
Here's my first (that I remember) Christmas day:
Waiting patiently for the two-legged children to empty their stockings first. |
I must have been a good boy!!
I got a Santa stuffy with tons of squeakers in his beard.
(note how white it is... now) |
I couldn't even wait for the tags to get cut off.
First, a sniff and a lick. |
Then shove him in my giant mouth!! |
Hey, I want your stuffy. |
Now I can be bad until next year.
I stole Isabella's bear in a stocking stuffy with lots of squeakers. |
What?!?
(It's a mystery how those ears got like that.) |
Tug-o-stuffy-war |
Back to Santa |
It's ironic that I was initially scared of stairs and
now the landing is my hiding place for stuffies when my bed is occupied. |
No, you may not have my Santa gift. |
More tug-o-war |
Isabella got tired so she kept playing, but lying down. That's silly. |
Merry Christmas! |
The beginning of the end for the stuffies. |
Time to kill Isabella's stuffy too.
Bwaahaaahaaa... no stuffy is safe from me!!! |
Stuffy euphoria. I think I'm an addict. |
He has mine. I have his. No, Kolchak, I will not trade. |
New place to get at Isabella's same old bear stuffy. |
Just some perspective on size.
I may be the younger brother, but I'm the big brother. |
I do not know how the stuffies got like this.
It wasn't us. |
O.K. Maybe it was us. I'm so tired, but I must keep playing stuffy-war. |
We can't help ourselves. |
Hello. My name is Kolchak and I'm a Stuffyholic. |
I'm so cute.
Nevermind the stuffing and squeakers all over my bed. |
Mom took a photo of me without a stuffy as proof that
I took a break. I like the cool floor too. |
For me?!
A new rope from the Nathan, Tony, and Brydi.
I also got treats!
They were so sweet to give a rope and treats to my sister too.
Mahalo nui loa!!! |
Greedy Isabella |
Stuffy heaven - a fox stuffy with a plastic water bottle for stuffing.
The crunch of the plastic is music to my ears! |
Here we go again! |
Evil Kolchak.
(I don't know how my staff got a shot of the real me.) |
Same process: lick, sniff... |
CHOMP! |
Good thing my nose bends because sometimes it gets in the way of a good chew. |

Evidence entered into Law & Order file as a pattern of misbehavior.
The evidence is mounting and the circumstantial is now not so circumstantial.
Super bummer.
Merry Christmas? |
Did I hear my name? |
One ear up and one down makes my family laugh and laugh. |
What? |
Christmas dinner was fabulous! Dog kibble with festive green peas,
gently seasoned with pineapple juice. Bet you're jealous! |
Bliss. |
My family always laughs when I do this and the camera is never handy.
Today Mom captured the nose on bowl technique. Keeps the nostils out of the water
and I use the side of my bowl to help lap up water. Incredibly efficient.
Bet your jealous again. |
Nothing so attractive as a Borzoi boy hydrating.
Next time Dad does a formal ball, I'll be ready with my good manners. |
Thankfully Isabella doesn't like peas.
She methodically set the peas on the ground for my dessert.
I snarfed it quickly before the staff swept it up.
See that threatening dust pan?! |
My siblings and me by the tree. |
Don't mind me... just passing through. |
I am loved. |
My Christmas was wonderful. Thank you Wolfhounds for having me out here and Jane for sending me.
My New Year's Eve was crazy as only Hawai'i can be. I was cool as a cucumber and that helped Isabella cope with all the firework noise. On that note, I wish all Wolfhounds, Wolfhound families, and everyone who checks my blog a
Hau'oli Makahiki Hou!!!
Howdy, Bro. Hope you had an good X-mas and New year. and I do mean bro. This is your brother (you knew me has Korsakov's The heat Is on). My human calls me Troi or Troika. He has been letting me follow you on your site.
ReplyDeleteA lot has happened since you last saw me. I got to my new home and found 3 Borzoi cousins waiting for me. The 2 oldest are brother and sister. Get this, their even older than our Mom and Dad. Cause there're so old, they don't really want to play with me much. So I torment them by tugging on their ears and grabbing their muzzle.
Fortunately the third one is only about a year older than us. We play all the time. the best is when we visit the school field and can run just as fast as we can.
I didn't get a soft comfy gig like you, so I am intraining to follow Mon and Dad into the family business. Mu human says I should do well as I was the best looking of the family. The first show is next month. I don't mind doing all struting and letting them touch me; but, I hate the dreaded B A T H.
Next weekend I am attending my first show (just to visit). I wll get to see jane for the first time since I left. Pretty excided.
Well, gotta go now. I'll keep in touch.
Troi
Aloha Troi! Good to hear from you, brah! Please thank your staff for letting us keep in touch.
ReplyDeleteWhat did you get for Christmas? Were you good?
I'm sure Jane found all of us cooshie homes with all kinds of different jobs and staff. As much as she loved all of us, she wouldn't send us some place that wasn't top-notch -- even if my family is a bit silly (they didn't know a thing about Borzoi and so I mess with their heads for fun). It's nice you have some Borzoi to play with. I love Isabella now, but I have to wrestle like you or play Lab games. She's not getting the Zoi games. I guess Labs aren't that smart, but she sure loves me so I don't care if she's a dim bulb.
One thing I've learned here is most of us Zois have it pretty good. There are lots of strays in Hawai'i and dogs that live with homeless folks, both of which are awfully skinny and never get baths. Did you know some dogs even fight here? It's awful. So, you and I may have to bathe, but that's not so bad! My staff have even started batheing me under the beach shower after I swim. Apparently, I get a bit sandy in all kinds of places. I don't much like that spraying water! Still, it's worth getting to play and I get to make the car smell like wet dog.
I'll "politely" defer to you on the who got the good looks comment. I think our whole sibling group is very handsome or beautiful just like our parents. But, as you can see, I catch the eye of many lovely ladies - the younger ones especially. It's something about the nose - and we all got that!
Hey, I'm growing my man fur finally after dumping all that puppy stuff. Are you? It looks nice, but I'm a bit worried I'll get hot in the summer. Not so much use for a thick, fuzzy coat out here.
I'm super jealous that you get to see Jane next week. I sure miss her! I hope she comes to visit me sometime, but until then, each time you see her please give her a big lick for me and a few sniffs too.
Aloha Troi! Keep in touch.
Your bruddah,
Kolchak
